Girl power

empowHER, sponsored by The Good Shepherd Community Clinic, Inc. and Bloom – Good Shepherd Women’s Health, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday at the Ardmore Convention Center. There will be vendors, interactive/crafting booths in addition to food, selfie booths and more. The event is also free to the public.

And I’m off to the rodeo

The World Championship Rodeo Bullfight Finals and Concert is set for Sept. 20-21 at the Hardy Murphy Coliseum. Jake Worthington will perform Friday night and Rick Trevino will perform Saturday night. Tickets are $15 and available at Brad’s Western Store and Jimmy’s Western Wear in Ardmore. The coliseum is located at 600 Lake Murray Dr. S in Ardmore.

Plant enthusiasts

The 2024 Fall Plant Swap will be at 11 a.m., Sept. 21 as the Ardmore Methodist Church. Bring a plant and swap it with other gardeners while sharing tips and other useful information. Those who do not have a plant are also invited as beginning gardeners are welcome.

Explore the paranormal

Get your mind right for Halloween by attending the Ardmore Library Paranormal Presentation. The event, hosted by Investigating Oklahoma’s Paranormal, will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sept. 26 at the library. Attendees will learn the basics of paranormal investigating, see the equipment and take part in a Q&A. The event is recommended for ages 14 and up. The library is located at 320 E. St. NW in Ardmore.

Calling all pickleball people

The highly anticipated Ardmore Stampede will be Sept. 27-29 at the pickleball complex located within Regional Park. The competition will feature women’s and men’s doubles, mixed doubles and team pickleball. The entry fee is $65.

Woodford VFD fundraiser

The Woodford Volunteer Fire Department will host its fire department from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 28. There will be a barbecue meal and auction with proceeds going toward supporting the fire department. The department is located at 5483 Woodford Road in Springer.

Fish fry in Ringling

The Ringling VFD will host a fish fry fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m., Oct. 5 at the VFD. The meal is for donation only and will consist of fish, calf fries, fried jalapenos, hushpuppies and tea. The department is located at 204 N. 5th St. in Ringling.

Red Dirt fest

The Second Annual Turner Falls Red Dirt Music Festival will be Oct. 5 with Cody Canada and The Departed headlining. Also performing will be Cam Allen, Gannon Fremin & CCREV, The Smokin’ Oaks and Carly Nash. Visit turnerfallspark.com for ticket information.

Criner Hills VFD fundraiser

The Criner Hills Volunteer Fire Department will host its Bar-B-Q Fundraiser Oct. 12 with live music starting at 5:30 p.m. and meal at 6 p.m. There will also be a live dessert auction. Fun for all

Save the date as Community Youth Services will host a Masquerade Ball at 6 p.m., Oct. 26 at the Harper & Copper Rooms. The evening will feature door prizes, a wine pull, silent auction, entertainment, a catered meal and more fun than you can imagine. Ticket details will be provided in the coming weeks.
