Toddler time
The Ardmore Family YMCA is inviting children ages six months to four years old along with a parent or grandparent to take part in an interactive morning of fun. The class will be from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., each Tuesday morning. Fitness and dance professional Kelsey Armstrong serves as the instructor.
Support the scouts
The Wilson Scout Troop 43 will host a chili cookoff Feb. 22 at the Wilson School Cafeteria. The entry fee is $25 per team. The public will be served from 2 to 4 p.m. with judging at 5 p.m. To pre-register, email tkkassheimer@yahoo.com or kurtissara@att.net.
Celebrating Black History Month
The HFV Wilson Community Center will host a celebration at 6 p.m., Feb. 23. It will feature a dynamic lineup of activities designed to educate, entertain and inspire.
County politics
The Carter County Republican County Convention is set for 7 p.m., March 4 at the Operations Center at American Nation Bank. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the precinct meeting at 6 p.m. You must attend your precinct meeting to be your precinct meeting to be eligible to attend the county convention. The Operations Center is located at 1725 N. Commerce in Ardmore.
Pancake feast
Connections Church in Lone Grove will serve free pancakes from 6 a.m. to noon, March 4 in honor of Shrove Tuesday. Bacon, eggs and sausage will also be served while supplies last. Connections Church is located at 16484 Hwy. 70 in Lone Grove.
Test your wits
The MORE Foundation’s Get Smart Trivia Night will be from 6 to 10 p.m., March 7 at the Ardmore Convention Center. Money raised will go toward scholarships for Carter County graduates. For ticket and sponsorship information, email morefdn@gmail.com.
Chili cookoff
The American Iron Riders Chili Cookoff is set for 4 p.m., March 8 at Starlite Club. The entry fee is $30 with first, second and third prize cash prizes awarded. Starlite Club is located at 1323 S. Commerce St. in Ardmore.
Spring Break camp
The HFV Wilson Community Center will host its Spring Break Camp March 17. Kids from the age of five to 12 are eligible to attend. The cost is $60 per child with $20 for each additional child from a family. Camp hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For additional information, contact the center at 580-223-0136.
