James Kenneth Lewis

Jr., known to most as J.R. age 59, of Ravia, passed away at his home on October 25, 2022. J.R. was born on October 18, 1963 in Talihina, Oklahoma to James Kenneth Sr. and Nadine Leoma (Brown) Lewis. He spent his years growing up in Ardmore and attended Ardmore Public Schools. He went on to artist school in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he learned how to paint Native American Paintings. J.R. married Arlene Austin and had one son, Mitchell Lewis. The two later separated. J.R. spent his working years welding in Madill and Springer, Oklahoma. He enjoyed dominoes, horseshoes and family reunions. He moved to Ravia to care for his dad until his passing and has since been helping take care of his mother as well. J.R. had a witty sense of humor, loved making people laugh and had a heart of gold; always caring for his family and the people around him. He will be greatly missed. J.R. was preceded in death by his father, James Kenneth Lewis Sr.; brothers, Jimmy Lewis Sr., and Lyndon Lewis. Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his mother, Nadine Lewis; son, Mitchell Lewis and wife Angela; grandchildren, Aveon Lewis and Kelik Lewis; sisters, Nancy Boston, Lisa Bamburg, Sandra Lee, Christie Pruner and Melonie Pyle and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at DeArman-Clark Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at the Troy Cemetery.
