Kelly Glen Parker

Kelly Glen Parker, 61, of Mustang, OK, passed away on March 16, 2022. He was born April 28, 1960, in Seminole, OK, to Billy L. Parker and Norma Jean Cox. The family later moved to Ardmore, and Kelly graduated from Ardmore High School in 1960. While at Ardmore, Kelly developed a love of sports. He played football and wrestled for the Tigers. After graduating, Kelly went on to Central State University and earned a degree in Business Administration and Computer Science.

Kelly worked for Exxon for 21 years as an oilfield pumper/gauger. After many years in the oilfield, Kelly decided to change careers and went back to school to study nursing. He started at OSU-OKC and later graduated from Platt College top of his class. Kelly enjoyed working as an LPN and would have liked to continue to become an RN.

Kelly’s love for sports followed him into adulthood. He was a great fan of baseball, particularly the Atlanta Braves. Kelly was proud of his collection of baseball memorabilia. Over the last few years, Kelly enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns play. When he wasn’t watching sports, he was a great lover of Gunsmoke. Kelly also had a giving heart. He enjoyed buying for others and looked for opportunities to give things away.

Kelly was preceded in death by his father, his brother-in-law Tracy Shirley, and his sister-in-law Faye Parker.

Survivors include his mother; his brother Zack Parker; his sister Shari Shirley; and nephews: Coulton Parker, Parker Shirley, and Jefferson Shirley.

A memorial service is being held at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Mustang on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 2:00pm. Burial in Arkansas will follow at a later date.
