Graveside rites for Laquetta Joyce Middleton, 86, will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Lone Cedar Cemetery with Reverend Joe Thomas and Marshall Thomas officiating. The daughter of the late Clint and Victoria (Brumley)
The daughter of the late Clint and Victoria (Brumley) Carrell, Laquetta was born December 30, 1935, in Berwyn, Okla., and entered her eternal home on June 26, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She married Aaron L. “Pete” Middleton June 29, 1954, in Ardmore. He preceded her in death July 19, 2010, following 56 years of marriage.
A lifelong resident of the area, Laquetta graduated from Ardmore High School with the class of 1954. She had worked at Gibson’s, Jean Lee and E-Z Shops as a clerk for many years. A fireman’s wife, she would take water, tea and sandwiches to the guys when they would be out on a fire. Laquetta tirelessly cared for her grandkids and great-grand kids when needed and loved having them around her.
Laquetta is survived by her daughters, Teresa Marchitti and husband R.P.; Cynthia Middleton; Karen Myers and husband Keith; and Vicki Middleton; grandchildren, Jason Barretta and wife Erin; Sherra Scott and husband J.R.; Kristi Shelton Ortiz; Kimberly Shaw and husband Justin; Krystal Myers and significant other Otto Young; Clint Carroll and wife Jennifer; and Dr. B. Ross Carroll and wife Valerie; 14 greatgrandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Serving as bearers will be Clint Carroll, Leroy Johnson, Justin Shaw, Parker Shaw, Evan Carroll, Otto Young, Pedie Gordon Jr., and Keith Myers.
The family would like to express a heartfelt “thank you” for the excellent care given by Good Shepherd Hospice, Trish, J.R., Christina, Michelle, and Dr. Zimmerman; her granddaughters Kimberly Shaw, Krystal Myers, and Kristi Ortiz; great-granddaughters Chloe Carroll and Montana Shaw; and great-grandson Parker Shaw.
