Larry Russell Shiplet was born March 27, 1945 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to

Lawrence Elbert Shiplet and Lillian Carmie (Gaddis) Shiplet. He died peacefully on October 21, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK. Larry graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1963 where he was a three-year letterman in baseball as a pitcher. He also attended Northeastern A&M College in Miami, Oklahoma on a baseball scholarship. He began his banking career at First National Bank of Tulsa in 1965 and later worked at banks in Ardmore, OK, Duncan, OK, Amarillo, TX, and Oklahoma City, OK. He retired in 2007. Larry proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 8 years from 1966 through 1974, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Crossings Community Church. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Ardeana Kay Shiplet. He leaves cherished memories with his daughter, Tracy and her husband Tony; son, Jason Shiplet; step-daughter, Amber Lorraine Martin Cunningham and husband Aaron; 2 grandsons, Avery and Asher Cunningham; granddaughter, Ashley Burch; sister-in-law, Judy Hooker; and niece, Kimberly Hooker Hughes. His ashes will be buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, OK. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to Central Oklahoma Humane Society, P.O.
