Lincoln Elementary placed in “SECURE” status after threats

After receiving word of a potential threat to Lincoln Elementary Friday morning, the school was placed in “SECURE” status for the remainder of the day. In a statement to social media, Ardmore City Schools said the Ardmore Police Department will be working with the School Resource Officer to ensure the safety of students and faculty.

Regular activities will continue inside the school, but any visitors may be asked to remain outside during the secure event.

We have been notified of a potential threat to Lincoln Elementary. All Lincoln Elementary students and staff are safe, as well as all students and staff at all other sites. We want to assure you that we are taking this matter seriously and have implemented our Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to ensure the safety of all students and staff. Lincoln Elementary will be placed in “SECURE” for the remainder of the day. APD will also be on site and working with our SRO throughout the day to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Please remember, per our Standard Response Protocol,  all visitors may be asked to stay outside during a secure event. Regular activities are continuing inside the school.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Lincoln Elementary.
