Braylee Spence shined once again for the Lone Grove High School softball team and did so on the biggest stage Thursday in a 3-0 win over Eufaula during the opening round of the Class 3A State Tournament.
The sophomore tossed a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts to help propel the Lady Horns to the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Lone Grove seniors Kadence Lampkin and KJ Tudor provided Spence with enough run support. Lampkin reached on an error in the third inning that allowed two runs to score, while Tudor’s sacrifice fly in the seventh drove in a run.
Lampkin, Hunter Gardner and Ava Stanley each finished with two base knocks, while Jesse Shuman, Jocelyn Morton, Jorden Rigney and Marklee McMurtrey added a hit apiece.
The Lady Horns are back in action at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18 against Chandler at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.
