The son of the late Pleasant Albert Barton, Jr. and Lawana Sue (Fisher) Barton, Monte was born on August 16, 1958 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and passed away on November 16, 2022 at his Ardmore, Oklahoma residence at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 0 days. He and the former Lesli Linn (Parker) were married on December 5, 2005 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. An Ardmore resident all of his life, Monte attended Springdale Elementary and graduated from Dickson High School. Monte’s early work career began where he was a route man for Colverts Dairy & Gilt Edge Farms, and other vending companies, until he began to live his dream. What started as selling items he would find on the curb, grew into becoming a vendor of antique booths, which grew into opening his own antique store, A Street Antiques. His love for junk and antiques grew even further when he became the owner and operator of Parkway Antiques and Parkway Group Estate Sales. He was a picker before picking was cool. Monte loved helping people and was a mentor to other friends of Bill. He didn’t just read his Bible but lived it and had a relationship with Jesus. Survivors include his wife, Lesli Barton; mother, Sue Barton; children; Gregory Boatright, Halie Dobbs & husband Jay, Chad Barton and wife Lacy, Payton Barton and wife Kayleigh and Jackie Gill & husband Kevin; grandchildren, Bryckton Lewis & girlfriend Katelynn, Bryttni Raines & husband Reno, Kayden Barton, Mister Barton, Brianne Mitchel, Bailey Mitchel, Brent Mitchel, Dylon McGee, Raylon Barton, Remington Barton, Racklee Barton, Mya Barton, Wyatt Gill, Elizabeth Gill, Dakota Dobbs and Garett Dobbs; great-grandchildren, Tytan Lewis, Ryver Raines; brother, Brad Barton & wife Stacey; sister, Jana Gall & husband Dale. Preceded in death by his father; a nephew, Geron Gall.
