Nancy Lee (Vaughn) Summers

The daughter of the late Marvin Vaughn and Elizabeth (Bl anton) Vaughn, Nancy was born on March 5, 1942, and passed away on November 23, 2022, at her Ardmore residence at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 18 days. She and Bill Summers were married on July 10, 1960, in Ardmore, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2015. They had three children, Dan Summers, and two infant sons. An Ardmore resident all of her life, Nancy graduated from Ardmore High School in the class of 1960. She began working as a teachers/office aide in August of 1970 with the Dickson School System until May of 1996. Nancy then worked several more years at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center as a teachers aid. In her leisure time Nancy enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and taking trips with her four sisters. She was a member of the Mary Niblack Road Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Dan Summers and wife Joan; granddaughter, Grace Summers; sisters, Peggy Johnston and husband Bill, Phyllis Julian and husband Harold, Anita Vanbebber and husband Jerry; brother, Wayne Vaughn; sister-in-law, Tammy Vaughn and brother-in-law, Arnold Muncrief. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Summers; 2 infant sons; sister, Betty Muncrief; brothers, Jesse Vaughn, Joe Vaughn, John Vaughn, Richard Vaughn and David Vaughn; and sister-in-law, Anita Vaughn. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at the Provence Cemetery with Reverend Derek Crawford officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be: Wayne Vaughn, Jay Swindell, David Green, Joe McReynolds, Dan Gibbs and Roy Bridgeman.
