1 The Healdton library will host a Decorative Canvas Painting Class at 10 a.m., Tuesday. The library is located at 554 4th Street. Guests can use their artistic ability painting on a canvas provided by the library. Paint, glitter, canvas and brushes will be provided by the library.

3 A classic movie, Shepherd of the Hills, will be screened at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art at 5:30 p.m. The museum is located at 415 Couch Drive. The 1941 movie stars John Wayne who plays angry moonshiner Matt Matthews who is impacted on a mysterious loner who rolls into town.

4 Dylan Cavin’s show, highlighting bison drawings and paintings focused on his Choctaw heritage will close this week on Friday. The work of Cavin is on display at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center located at 1000 Chisholm Trail Parkway in Duncan. For more information, call (580) 252-6692.

5 Lone Grove and Kingston will be the sites this week for prep basketball tournaments, both of which are set to start Thursday and conclude Saturday with the place games. There will be a new champion in the girls bracket at Lone Grove as defending champion Plainview has switched tournaments and will compete in Kingston, while defending runner-up Sulphur will travel north to Lindsay, as will fellow Murray County rival Davis. In addition to Lone Grove, Dickson and Wilson will also vie for first place at the Gary Scott Center at Lone Grove High School. At Kingston, Kingston, Plainview and Tishomingo will give their best shot as they look to take home top honors in the New Year’s Classic.
