Cleta Marie Turner, age 92, passed away on Jan. 25, 2016, at Ardmore. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest. Internment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Cleta was born at Carter Okla. on Feb. 15, 1923, to Joseph Burton and Eva (Logan) Burton.
She attended Mannsville School and was a graduate of Ardmore Public Schools. She married her high school sweetheart, Wayne E. Turner, on May 10, 1941, in Marietta. Cleta worked in the ship yards in San Francisco during WWII. After the war ended, she worked in Ventura, Calif., at JC Penny’s. Cleta moved back to live in Ardmore in 1975 when she took a position with the Paula Kate Dress Shop. She retired to be a homemaker. Cleta attended First Baptist Church of Ardmore and The CrystalRock Cathedral.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; parents; seven brothers; and two sisters.
Cleta is survived by son, Gary Turner and wife, Joyce of Overbrook; daughter, Sharon Dodd and husband, Glen; four grandchildren, Cara Rhyne and husband, Mike, Kimberly Dodd, Kevin Dodd and wife, Kristen and Matthew Dodd; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Kyle Rhyne, Destin Rhyne and Chloe Dodd; and two great-­great­-grandchildren, Dalon Rhyne and Haeli Rhyne, all of Ardmore.
Family will receive guests from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. this evening at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
