A purpose has been found for the Tivoli Theater. But it will be on a lesser scale than many might have imagined or desired.
The Ardmore landmark will be used by the Ardmore Main Street Authority for office space while the Santa Fe Depot undergoes repair work. The repairs, necessitated by water damage during severe flooding in 2015, are expected to take a year.
Authority General Manager Jeff DiMiceli said he was excited about the temporary relocation in that it would place the authority in the heart of downtown around its membership.
Plans for Depot Park continue with two design options being developed for the authority’s final decision. LandPlan is developing the plans.
The authority had its first quarterly downtown retail merchant alliance training at the Legacy Event Center. Vance Porter of the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center provided training on customer service. Attendance was down somewhat but DiMiceli said the excitement and commitment to the alliance remains high.
The authority has also hired Lori Wittington to serve as the administration assistant/hospitality and promotions manager.
