Rev. Allen Alford Moore, age 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 18, 2016, in Seminole, Okla. Moore was born July 5, 1929, in Carter County to the late Leonard Allen Moore and Minnie Lee Huckaby Moore.
He attended Berwyn School. He married Vivian Ella Brown on August 15, 1947. He was a member of the United States Marine Corp, serving his country honorably in the Korean Conflict.
He was an ordained pastor for the Free Will Baptist Denomination on May 21, 1955. Serving the Lord was his daily passion. He pastored seven churches in Texas and Oklahoma. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist National Association, Free Will Baptist District Mission Board, and the Free Will Baptist Texas State Executive Board.
Rev. Moore served as a minister for over 61 years. He loved spending time with his family. Seeing his grandchildren in church on Sunday’s brought much joy to his life. He was known for his loving spirit and his wisdom he offered to those around him.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian, of the home; children Victoria Bookout and husband, Bob, of Wewoka, Elaine Fergueson and husband, George, of Boswell Okla., Leonard Moore and wife, Loma, of Surfside Beach, Texas; grandchildren Philip Bookout, Sarah Pack, Amy Fergueson, Larry Moore, Adam Fergueson and wife, Melissa, Carol Fergueson, Matt Wingfield and wife, Kim, Stephanie Givens and husband, Jason; great-­grandchildren Brya and Erica Bookout, Jozeph Pack, Jacklynn and Isbella Wingfield, Reece and Payne Givens, Marcello and Joel Fergueson; great­-great­-granddaughter, Mavys Pigeon, as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Stout­-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Wewoka. Rev. George Fergueson, Rev. Allen Wood, and Leonard Moore will officiate the service.
Pallbearers will be Amy Fergueson, Carol Fergueson, Adam Fergueson, Philip Bookout, Jozeph Pack, Larry Moore, Stephanie Givens, Matt Wingfield, and Marcello Fergueson.
Interment will be at 4 p.m., Tuesday at the Berwyn Cemetery in Gene Autry. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Stout-­Phillips Funeral Home.
