ADA - The East Central University men's golf team will play for the second-straight week, as they travel to Pottsboro, Texas to participate in the Texoma Chevy Dealer's Invitational at Tanglewood Resort, March 20-22.
The Tigers will be represented by three seniors, a sophomore and a freshman at the event, with two players have participated in the tournament twice.
In 2015, the event was on the schedule for ECU, but it was cancelled due to weather, making this the sixth-straight season when held that the Tigers will participate.
Seniors Jason Goben and Jordan Bates have been at the tournament twice before for ECU. The duo tied for 15th in 2014 with a 77, in a one-round tournament. Goben tied for 25th in 2013 (154), while Bates was 74th (170).
So far in 2015-16, Bates leads the Tigers with a 75.2 average in seven events. Goben is a close second with a 76.1 average in six tournaments.
Sophomore Bryce Newton will be playing in his seventh event of the year, having a 76.7 average. Freshman Taylor Nichols has a 78.5 average in two tournaments and senior Michael Million has an 86 average in one event.
Nichols and Million have both not participated for ECU since Oct. 19-20, 2015 at the Midwestern State Invitational.
