LAWTON — Carolyn Joyce (Miller) Berg was born May 21, 1945, in Cache, to Woodrow and Irma (Shaw) Miller. She passed away peacefully on April 14, 2016, at the age of 70.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Carolyn grew up and attended school in Cache, and graduated in 1963. She was a stay at home mom for many years and then employed at various places which included: The City of Durant, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Department of Human Services, and a drug and alcohol counselor at Recovery Way. Carolyn was a loving mother to her own children, and a loving foster mother to numerous children. She was a member of Faith Center Church in Sulphur.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sherri Annette Caldwell; her father and mother, Woodrow and Irma Miller; her brothers, Truman, Jerry and James Miller; and husbands, Butch Caldwell and Tom Humphries.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Lee Berg of Sulphur; daughter, Kim Rice and husband, Gerald, of Euless, Texas; daughter, Stacy Doughty and husband, Paul, of Ardmore; sister, Marilyn Coomer and husband, Jeff, of Shawnee; and grandsons, Justin Doughty of Ada, and Ethan Doughty of Ardmore. She also has numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was provided excellent care at Wynnewood Nursing Care Center.
