Ardmore resident Alan Ray Sharp, 58, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Ardmore following a sudden illness. He was born here on April 18, 1958, and had lived in Ardmore all of his life.
Alan had served in the U.S. Navy. A small engine mechanic, he had worked for many years at Kriet’s Western Auto Store; also in the Water Department of the City of Ardmore and was an apprentice and shop hand at C and K Metal Works.
He enjoyed traveling and was proud of all of his children’s accomplishments. He loved his kids, and wanted nothing more than to attend his daughter’s graduation from Nursing School in May.
Alan is survived by a daughter, Natalie Sharp and spouse, Chafferty Smith; two sons, Ray Alan Sharp and spouse, Christine Cottrell and Jake Alan Smith, all of Ardmore; grandchildren, Chelsea Lynn Jobe, Bryson Cole Sharp and Jayden Alan Sharp; brother, Russell Barnes; and sister, Kelly Barnes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Bill and Eva Barnes.
A time of visitation and support has been set from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Harvey--Douglas Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey--Douglas Funeral Home. Mr. Juan Jimenez will lead a Rosary Devotion and facilitate the services.
Cremation-With-Care will be provided by Harvey--Douglas Crematory.
