Ardmore native, Phil Morehead, 52, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Ardmore. Born here, Feb. 22, 1964, to the late Marvin T. “Dutch” Morehead and GeNell “Jerry” Evans Morehead, Phil attended school here and played football at Ardmore High School.
He and Evelyn Casey were married Dec. 21, 1990, at Gainesville, Texas, and after living in Gainesville, Marietta and Waurika, returning to Ardmore in 2006.
Phil had been a foreman with Solitaire Mobile Homes. Of Baptist faith, he enjoyed spray painting, playing the guitar or sitting under a shade tree listening to music. The times he treasured most were those spent with his children and grandchildren. He had a green thumb, and it showed with his yard and garden work.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Morehead of the home; two daughters, Falicia Scribener and Marissa Morehead; four sons, Phillip, Dillon, Darron and Casey Morehead; brothers, Sam Sr., Chuck, Marvin “Junior” and Jimmy Morehead; sisters, Linda Gray, Debbie Lackey, Diane Klinger and Connie Thompson; and grandchildren, Evelyn, Dakota, Mason, Eliah and Evie.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Gayle Neeper.
A Gathering of Remembrance will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 20, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey­-Douglas Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Jason Williams. Followed by Cremation­-With­-Care provided by Harvey­-Douglas Crematory.
