Lorena Rose Lowenstein of Ardmore, was born Dec. 30, 1920, to the late Emanuel Lowenstein and Lorena Marston Lowenstein at Dallas. She was the granddaughter of Albert and Rosa Lowenstein and Lewis Robert and Ida Marston, all of Ardmore.

Lorena graduated from Ardmore High School in 1938 and attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Va., and then the University of Texas in Austin. She belonged to the Three R’s honorary English organization.

She went to work for Mobil Oil Company in the land department in Ardmore and later transferred to Dallas where she worked for that same company for 33 years. She returned to Ardmore in 1985.

She was a member of the former Ardmore Junior Garden Club and is currently a member of the St. Philips Episcopal Church, the Ruth Price Guild of St. Philips Episcopal Church, the No Host Wednesday luncheon group, the Retired Secretary’s luncheon group and the Ivy Garden Club.

In 2003, Lorena left her home of 82 years on Bixby Avenue SW and moved to the Lodge at Ardmore Village, where she has been a resident ever since. Lorena passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Manette Lowenstein Bell.

She is survived by nephews: F. Morgan Bell of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Thomas Marston Bell of Vero Beach, Fla.; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, conducted by the Rev. Steve Bilsbury. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery.
