DUNCAN — Marjorie Dean Wharton, 91, of Duncan, Okla., passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, in Oklahoma City.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kathy Gibson officiating. Services are under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the funeral home.

Marjorie was born Dec. 25, 1924, at Comanche, Okla., to Elbert N. and Lottie (Owens) Brown. She graduated from Comanche High School in 1942. She worked at the Boeing Plant in Wichita, Kan., helping build the B-29 during World War II. She married Billy Duane Wharton on Jan. 30, 1955, at Weatherford, Texas. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2000.

She was a pharmacy assistant for many years working at the R&S Drug downtown and the pharmacy at Gibsons Discount Center. Marjorie was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time and visiting with family and friends.

Marjorie is survived by two sons, Roy Wharton and wife, Gayle, of Ardmore, and Billy Wharton and wife, Candace Ballantyne, of Pine, Colo.; one brother, Bill Brown of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren, Roy D. Wharton and wife, Blenda, Kimberly McAuliffe and husband, Tim, and Michele Wharton; and five great-grandchildren, Madi Wharton, Eli Wharton, Jessica Austin and husband, Brandon, Journie Goodman and Macy McAuliffe.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Lottie Brown; and her husband, Billy D. Wharton.

Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
