Anneke Strobach, who played her freshman season at Fairleigh Dickinson this past year, has transferred to The University of Tulsa and will be immediately eligible for the Golden Hurricane women’s golf team, it was announced today by Head Coach Emilee Klein-Gille.
Strobach will be a sophomore when she arrives at Tulsa for the fall semester.
Strobach was the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year in 2015-16 and earned first-team all-conference accolades, while helping lead her team to the NEC Championship with a fourth-place individual performance.
The native of Lima, Peru, Strobach began her collegiate career by winning the individual title at her first event with a score of 149 (74-75) at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational last September. She proceeded to record six top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments.
“Anneke is going to be a great addition to our program. She is a very solid player who knows how to win and shoot low numbers, which will make a significant impact on the team immediately. I believe we will see great things from Anneke over the next 3 years here at TU,” said Klein-Gille.
Strobach is currently ranked 541 in the Women’s Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR). She won the Campeonato National Stroke Play Championship in late May and will play on the Peru Amateur Team at the 2016 World Amateur Team Championship in Cancun, Mexico this September.
In her amateur career, Strobach also won the Chile Youth Championship with a score of 73-74-70 in 2014, and captured the Abertio de Golf Scotiabank and Doral/Publix Junior Championship that same season as well. She also finished in sixth place at the 2014 Junior British Open.
