MARIETTA — Services for Sharron Ann McGehee of Marietta,  are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, in the Marietta Church of Christ with Bro. Tony Lalli and Bro. Gary Labeth officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.
Sharron was born at Pike, Okla., on July 15, 1948, the daughter of Ben and Ruby McKee Alexander. She passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, at her home at the age of 68.
A resident of Love County all of her life, Sharron attended school at Courtney and Burneyville and graduated from Turner High School with the Class of 1966. She married Preston L. McGehee on May 20, 1966, in Love County. Sharron was a very active member of the Marietta FFA Booster Club for a number of years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren play sports. Her hobbies included reading, scrapbooking, and crafts. Sharron was a member of the Marietta Church of Christ and also a very proud member of the Chickasaw tribe.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, Yvonne Alexander; and a brother, L.B. Alexander.
She is survived by her husband, Preston Lloyd McGehee of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Preston Harold and Kim McGehee and Gregg and Shawna McGehee of Marietta; sister, Lavern Turner of Wilson; seven grandchildren, Alex McGehee, Colton McGehee and wife, Nykki, Garrett McGehee, Briggom McGehee, Sarah McGehee, Caleb McGehee, and Claire McGehee; great-granddaughter, Annistyn McGehee; brother-in-law, F.A. “Butch” Shellenberger and wife, Wanda of Ardmore; two sisters-in-law, Janet Hoefar Foster of Justin, Texas, and Sharon Shellenberger of Plano, Texas; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and dear lifelong friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be grandsons, Preston “Alex” McGehee, John “Colton” McGehee, Garrett McGehee, Briggom McGehee, and Caleb McGehee; and granddaughter, Sarah McGehee. Honorary bearers are Claire McGehee, Annistyn McGehee, Dr. Tom O’Connor, Elizabeth Eddows, Odessa Gouker, and the staff of Mercy Health Love County.
Time of visitation for family and friends will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
