OIL CITY — Celebration of Life services for Mark Anthony Sims, 57, of Oil City are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at the Oil City Union Church with the Rev. Paul Dean Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Keller Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Mark was born on June 20, 1959, at Ardmore, to James Ettworth Sims and Evelyn Francis (Thompson) Sims. He departed this life Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at Oil City.
Mark was raised at Oil City attending school at Healdton, graduating in 1978. He began a lifelong career working in the oilfield soon after he graduated and was currently a pumper with Chaparral Energy of Fox.
Mark enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time taking care of his chickens. He was also an avid sports fan and had attended the Oil City Union Church ever since he was a child.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Herman Thompson and Gracie Thompson and Covy and Margie Sims.
Survivors include his parents, James E. Sims and Evelyn F. (Thompson) Sims of Oil City; daughters, Meagan Brundage and husband, Daniel of Wilson, and Cheyenne Schumacher and husband, Cale of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Connie Burns and husband, Stephen of Oil City; grandchildren, Harlan Brundage and Emary Schumacher; and numerous other family and friends.
Casket bearers are Roger Watkins, Rob Tidwell, Dusty Pierce, Stephen Burns, Daniel Burns and Catlin Gravitt.
Honorary bearers are his co-workers of Chaparral Energy.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
