An Ardmore police officer was bitten by a dog Wednesday morning while investigating the theft of a bicycle.
APD reports indicate Officer Parker Green responded shortly after 7 a.m. to a residence in the 1100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard after a bicycle reported stolen Saturday was spotted in the yard. Green knocked on the door of the residence and when  the door was opened a dog charged out, biting the officer on the leg.
Capt. Keith Ingle, APD Criminal Investigations, said the following resulted:
• The stolen bicycle was released to the owner.
• The officer was treated at the local emergency room
• The dog was taken taken by animal control to a veterinary clinic for quarantine
• The owner of the dog received two citations — no record of the dog having a current rabies vaccination and owning a potentially dangerous dog.
