The 2016-17 Oklahoma State women’s tennis schedule was unveiled by head coach Chris Young Thursday. Highlighted by a national championship rematch with the defending NCAA Champion Stanford Cardinal, the 2017 spring dual schedule will pit the Cowgirls against 13 teams that earned NCAA Tournament bids last season.
The Cowgirls are coming off the best season in program history in 2016 that saw the team advance to the NCAA Championship match and claim the program’s first Big 12 Championship since 2003. The squad racked up a 29-5 overall record with a perfect 9-0 mark in Big 12 play.
OSU will open up the 2016 fall schedule in Newport, R.I., where they will compete at the Hall of Fame Grass Court Invitational from Sept. 16-18 at Bill Talbert Stadium at the Tennis Hall of Fame. Following a trip to New Haven, Conn., for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, the Cowgirls will head to the Sunshine State for a pair of top-10 matchups against Florida and Stanford. The Pokes will take on Florida on Feb. 17, before a highly-anticipated showdown with the defending champion Cardinal on Feb. 18 that will serve as a rematch of the 2016 NCAA title match.

The squad returns to conference action on March 17 when the Texas Longhorns travel to Stillwater for a Friday night bout.
After a weekend off, OSU heads south to take on Texas Tech (March 31) and TCU (April 2) in a pair of Big 12 road matches. The following weekend, Kansas State (April 7) and Kansas (April 9) will make their way to Stillwater.
