George William “Willie” Russell has been sentenced to 40 months plus three years of supervised release in the federal case charging him with distributing methamphetamine.
Russell, the 39-year-old son of Love County Sheriff Joe Russell, appeared in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District. U.S. District Judge James H. Payne handed down the sentence.
Russell was indicted in November 2015 and pleaded guilty to the charge a month later. The case resulted from an investigation conducted by Ardmore Police Department, Carter County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI.
