Hundreds of area students have learned about Chickasaw and Native American culture and traditions this week during field trips to the 56th Annual Chickasaw Meeting and Festival Tishomingo, Emit, Ada, Sulphur and Included in the visits were tours of historic sites, such as the  Chickasaw Capitol, constructed in 1898 and now a museum illustrating the important history of the Chickasaw Nation.

Other activities for students included watching and participate in a variety of demonstrations from stickball and stomp dances to archery.
