Funeral services for Nettie Maudell Stracner Luckinbill, 93, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 at the New Hope Church of God with the Rev. Robert Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
A time of visitation and support for the family will be from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
The daughter of the late John D. and Nettie Bell Smith Hicks, Maudell was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Oklahoma City. She and her family lived at Broken Bow moving here to Ardmore when she was 12.
With her son by her side, she peacefully left this world for her eternal home on Nov. 1, 2016.
Maudell was a faithful member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church and New Hope Church of God until her health began failing. Maudell had read her Bible through twice. She was a homemaker and loved her family and family gatherings.
She is survived by her son, Mike Stracner; stepdaughter, Patricia West and husband, Charles; stepsons, Tommy Luckinbill and wife, Rhonda and Hershel Luckinbill and wife, Eva; her brother, Doyle Hicks; sisters, Lorene Gantz and Helen West; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; and Meme’s very special angel, Caiden Anthony Boswell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Henry Stracner; second husband, Orville Luckinbill; and brothers, Raymond and the Rev. Alvin Hicks.
Her nephews, Randy Brogdon, Stan Hicks, Steve Hicks, Will Washburn, Randy Newcomb and Darin Newcomb will serve as bearers. Honorary bearers will be Shannon Jones, Milton Anthony, Scott Stephens, Josh Piggee, Stacy Drennan and Jeremy Blakley.
