A 36-year-old mother was arrested Wednesday afternoon after Ardmore police and Department of Human Services child welfare workers responded to a report she was abusing at least one of her three children.
“We received information concerning possible child abuse and once we arrived the mother told us that one of her 10-year-old twin boys was uncontrollable — she called him ‘’the mean one’. The child did not need medical attention or have physical injuries, but the way she was punishing him was inappropriate,” Ingle said.
Brandi Bolton was arrested and booked into the Carter County Jail pending two counts of child abuse, as well as, a Murray County arrest warrant.
The mother’s twins and a 2-year-old child were taken into protective custody. The children were later turned over to the custody of DHS.
Although Ingle declined describing exactly what the alleged abuse entails, he confirmed a search warrant served at Bolton’s residence, in the unit block of 6th Avenue NE, Thursday provided evidence of the abuse as well as evidence of drug use.
