Monie finished her adventure of 90 years on this earth early Friday morning, Nov. 4, 2016, about daybreak. She was born on November 6, 1926, at her family home north of Ringling to the late  Claude Andrew Faulkner and Ada Calista (Skinner) Faulkner. She spent many happy years with her siblings on that farm which was a legacy from her granddad.
Upon graduation from Mountain Home High School, she worked as a telephone operator with her best friend and future sister-in-law, Illa Mae Farmer. This was her first  and only job. As soon as Jerry Dillard returned from overseas, they married on September 16, 1948, and she devoted her life to him and their home. They made their home on the ranch south of Ringling where Jerry still resides. Monie had been a member of the Ringling Church of Christ since she was baptized as a teenager.
Lavonia was preceded in death by their son, Jerry H. “ Jetty” Dillard II in 1977. Also preceding her were both of her brothers, Earl and Dale Faulkner; and a sister, Leona Dodson.
