RINGLING – Services for George Henry Morriss, 81, of Ardmore are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion in Ringling with the Rev. Terry Tolbert and Bro. Jimmy May officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

George Henry Morriss was born July 17, 1935, at Orr, to the late OBD Morriss and Bessie (Head) Morriss. He departed this life Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at his home in Ardmore.

George was raised in Orr attending school at Ringling until his final year. His family then moved to California for a short time and George completed his high school graduation there. After moving back to Ardmore, he met the love of his life, the former Daisy Hill and the couple were married on April 28, 1956, in Ardmore.  To this union, they were blessed with three children, Lorena, Sherrilynn and Carl “Ray.” George spent most of his working years in grocery stores holding management positions. Daisy preceded him in death on March 24, 2004. George enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.  He especially enjoyed his time with them when they were camping. George also loved to play golf and spending time with family. He was loved by all who knew him for his kind and caring nature.

Also preceding him in death were his parents and his son, Carl “Ray” Morriss.

Survivors include his two daughters, Lorena Hurley and husband, Eddie, of Ardmore, and Sherrilynn Robinson and boyfriend, Michael Wells; six grandchildren, Dustin and wife, Toni, Krystal, Kenna and husband, Josh, Kayla, Cody, and Laci and husband, Ethan; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Morriss; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
