Debra Lynn Pruitt was born Sept. 27, 1952, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, to Kenneth and Dorothy L. (Ward) Pruitt and passed from this life on Jan. 8, 2017, at her home in Durant, at the age of 64.
Debra married Michael Blain on May 27, 1998, in San Antonio, and they moved to Bryan County 14 years ago. Debra was a proud tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and recently retired as a customer service representative for the nation. She was of the Baptist Faith and she enjoyed working with flowers and at Roby’s Hallmark, spending time with her family and friends; she dearly treasured her grandchildren.
Debra was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ronnie Vandenburg.
Loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are her parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Pruitt of Ardmore; husband, Michael Blain of the home; brother, Michael Pruitt and wife, Katy of Durant, Okla.; sister, Kenna Vandenburg of Ardmore; children, Deanna Byrd of DeWitt, Mich., and Jon Byrd and wife, Mari of San Antonio; grandchildren: Haley, Emma, Miles, Alexis, Brennan, Kristin, Brittany, Alex and Jesse; and great-grandchildren, Avyona and Julia.
She is also survived by numerous extended family and friends including Lindsay Rude and husband, Nick with their children, Teigan and Logan; Lauren Vesley and husband, Lance with daughter, Lakelynd; and Chance Pruitt.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Griffin Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
