LONE GROVE—A Lone Grove woman was recently charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Carter County District Court after allegedly slicing a man’s face.
“The victim actually showed up to the police department,” Lone Grove Police chief Robert Oldham said. “He drove himself to the police department, gave us the name of the subjects who did it and where they were at.”
While the victim was receiving medical attention, Oldham said officers drove to the house where the victim said the suspects would be and located 39-year-old Brandy Trevino. She was charged with assault  with a deadly weapon.
Trevino was transported to Carter County Jail and booked in at approximately 1 p.m. Monday. Oldham said the stabbing incident took place at approximately 11 a.m. The victim had surgery that day, having his nose stitched back on, and was released the same evening.
“She stabbed him at the bridge of the nose and then slid down all the way to his mouth,” Oldham said.
Carter County Sheriff’s Office records show Trevino remained in jail Thursday. Her bond was set at $100,000 during an initial appearance Tuesday with Special District Judge Carson Brooks. A no contact order was also filed Tuesday.
Trevino’s next court date is set for 9 a.m. Feb. 23 for a preliminary conference.
