Services for Doyle Edward Doughty, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Friday morning at Trinity Baptist Church with the Reverends Terry Tolbert and Jimmy May officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
A time of visitation and support for the family will be from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Doyle grew up in Ardmore and attended Ardmore schools. He lived in California for a brief time, and while there served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. After being medically discharged, he returned to Ardmore. He married the former Patricia Kemp Easter Sunday, April 6, 1958. They would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this year.
Doyle served on the Ardmore Fire Department and retired as Assistant Chief. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was saved at Southwest Baptist Church. He enjoyed building and working with wood.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home; his son, Paul and his wife, Stacy of Ardmore; grandsons, Justin and Ethan Doughty; his brother, James; brother-in-law, Clyde Kemp and his wife, Jean; cousin Johnnie Grimes; lifelong friend, Bud Keith; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Doyle was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Lynn; brother, and sister-in-law, Harold and Linda Doughty; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harrold and Inez Ralls, and Joe and Lawan Kemp.
