A Madill man died early Monday morning due to a motorcycle wreck in Bryan County, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
John P. Cargal, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS due to injuries from the accident at approximately 3:20 a.m. Monday. The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed on a county road 1.5 miles west of Mead when it ran off the roadway to the right.
The report shows the motorcycle then traveled 300 feet down a ditch before striking a culvert. Cargal was thrown approximately 30 feet from the vehicle. He was not wearing a helmet.
Troopers also noted in the report there was an odor of an alcoholic beverage. The cause of collision was listed as unsafe speed.
