Healdton residents voted down a proposition for a sales tax to fund the cities parks and recreation department for the intended purpose of maintaining the city’s lake and swimming pool, a function once held by the now-defunct Healdton Industrial Authority.
A sales tax vote to continue funding the HIA failed in November.
The proposition failed with a 133 no votes to 122 yes votes.
Healdon also elected Lindsey Briscoe to the city council by more than 100 votes.
Springer elected Charlene Robison town clerk-treasure my a margin of 3 votes.
Tishomingo voters elected Cathryn Harmon to city council to represent Ward 5.
Mannsville elected Dean Copeland to its board of trustees and Shonda Barnes as town treasurer.
Marietta elected Rae Freeman, representing Ward 1, and Shelby C. Harris, Ward 2, to its city council.
Kingston elected Gary Cluck to its board of trustees.
