Dixie Faye Haworth, 73, passed away at her residence on April 1, 2017, following her battle with cancer. The daughter of the late Martin Wesley and Virginia Frances Rutherford, Dixie was born Nov. 26, 1943, in Ardmore.
She graduated high school from Chowchilla, Calif., and after returning to Ardmore began her career as a stewardess with American Flyers. She moved to Pennsylvania with them and then returned to Ardmore in the early 70s. She worked as a teller with First National Bank at the Lone Grove branch. Afterwards, she worked for Victory Home Health as a caregiver.
Dixie is survived by her sisters, Susie Pope and husband, Richard of Wylie, Texas, Linda Haworth and Alma Black; and her brother, Tommy Haworth, all of Ardmore. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
