Robert ”Bob” Lawrence May Sr., 75, of Troy, N.H., passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore. Robert was born in Franklin, N.H., and raised in Troy, N.H., and graduated from Troy High School in 1959. Before retirement in 1990, Bob worked for the State of New Hampshire Highway Department. He moved to Albuquerque, N.M., in 1995 to be closer to his children, to be able to watch them play golf. In 2009, he moved to Ardmore. He was a diehard fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, UConn Women’s Basketball and NASCAR. Bob was a devoted and loving father who loved his family and loved traveling to visit his family and friends. He began Project Graduation at MRHS, loved gardening, helping others and bringing a smile to your face. He had a sense of humor like no other.
Bob will be loved and missed by his surviving family which include his children, Robert L. May Jr. (Renee) of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Tracy May of Ardmore; brothers and sisters, Harold May (Betty) of Spofford, N.H., Ed May of Albuquerque, N.M., Richard May of Winchester, N.H., Margie Clark (Walt) of Shelburne Falls, Mass., Carol Renaud (Al) of Manchester, N.H., and Jim May (Kellie) of Cotopaxi, Colo.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony; sisters, Shirley and Eleanor; and his parents, Harry and Annie May.
There will be no calling hours and a private ceremony and burial will be conducted at a later date.
