MANNSVILLE — Graveside Rites for Larry DeWayne “Byrd” Latimer, 42, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Mannsville Cemetery with Pastors Judy Anglin and Joseph Mays officiating.
The son of Larry Jack Latimer and Deloise Kay (Brandon) Anderson, Byrd was born on Aug. 22, 1974, in Ardmore, and passed away on April 4, 2017, at the local hospital.
He and the former Shelia Hickman were married on Oct. 28, 2014, in Gainesville, Texas.
A resident of Ardmore most of his life, Byrd grew up in Pauls Valley, Okla., and attended elementary school there. Byrd graduated from Ardmore High School and attended Southeastern University. He loved OU Football, listening as well as playing music but was known for being a DJ for many years. Byrd had worked at Dollar General Warehouse for 11 years but was currently employed with the Ardmore Veterans Center.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia; his children, Karli, Kason and Kassi and their mother, Elicia Hills; stepchildren, Kirstyn, Brooklyn and Blake; mother, Deloise Kay Anderson; sister, Joyce Kay Latimer; brother, Michael Eugene Anderson; two nieces; one nephew; and a host of other extended family and friends.
Byrd was preceded in death by his father, Larry Jack Latimer.
Pallbearers will be Mike Simmons, Scott Minyard, Drae Blanton, Bryar Blanton, Bubba Blanton, Obie Blanton and Ronnie Burkhalter.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
