Someone hit the “off” switch on downtown Ardmore Tuesday.
Ardmore experienced a power outage Tuesday afternoon after a power outage left several downtown businesses in the dark.
Initial reports on OG&E’s website indicated 432 customers were affected by the outage.
The outage occurred about 1:45 p.m. and affected approximately 635 OG&E customers, according to OG&E representative Gene Fryar. Several businesses and even stop lights downtown were affected by the outage and The Ardmoreite offices were left without power for more than an hour, as well.
Crews immediately responded to the outage and begin looking for the source of the shutdown.
By 3 p.m., it was determined a fuse at the sub-station had blown, causing the outage along Main Street.
“We found the problem and it has been resolved,” Fryar said in a phone call shortly power was returned to the area.
