Memorial services for Jimmy MacArthur Rozzell, 74, will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, in the Centennial Chapel of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with the Reverend David Gardner officiating. Inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The son of the late Jacob Elgin Rozzell and Thirlda Elizabeth (Collins) Rozzell, Jimmy was born on May 3, 1942, in Ardmore and passed away on April 10, 2017, at his Ardmore residence.
He and the former Sandra Kay Kyle were married on June 2, 1962, in Ardmore and would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
An Ardmore resident most of his life, Jimmy graduated from Ardmore High School, class of 1960. Shortly afterwards, he moved to California for a few years only to move back to Ardmore. Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, water skiing and most of all spending time on family outings. He had worked with both Safeway and Homeland as store manager. Jimmy at one time served as the Deputy of the Carter County Assessor’s Office. He was a member of the Ardmore Optimist Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra; son, Christopher Kyle Rozzell and his wife, Berdina; grandchildren, Randall James Rozzell, Trenton Reese Rozzell, Madison Kaye Rozzell, Riley James Rozzell, Katelyn Grace Rozzell, Cody Ross Rozzell and Dylan Reed Powers; brother-in-law, Ron Kyle and wife, Donna; and numerous nieces, nephews and many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randal “Randy” Rozzell; sisters, Joyce Chilson, Loyce Rozzell, Laveda Meyer, Diretha Faye Boydston and Jeraldine “Jerri” Rodriguez; brother, Francis Rozzell and his wife, Wilma; and grandson, Jacob Christopher Rozzell.
Honorary Bearers: Randall Rozzell, Riley Rozzell, Ron Kyle, Joseph Chilson, Harold Rozzell, Thurman Rail, Winford Curry, Mike Howie, John Hoffman and Erick Dellinger.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
