The Rev. John Breon, senior pastor at First United Methodist Church Durant, will offer the final Lenten message at noon Friday during the conclusion of the annual “Noonday” Holy Week series in the Colvert Ministry Center of FUMC Ardmore.
Breon has served the Durant church as senior pastor since 2011. He says he sees the goal of ministry as helping people come to know Christ and grow so that every part of life is lived in relationship to Christ.
Prior to Durant, Breon served churches in Eufaula, Beaver, and Helena, as well as Mt. Vernon and Platte Woods, Mo.
He is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and Perkins School of Theology. He earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Asbury
Theological Seminary.
Breon’s wife, Nancy has taught music in elementary, middle, and high schools, and currently teaches music at Northwest Heights Elementary in Durant. They have three children: Rachel Myers and her husband, Zach, Eric Breon, and Eli Breon.
The service begins at noon and includes an optional light lunch for $5.  Both the lunch and the message will conclude in less than an hour so those who work might be able to return to their jobs in a timely manner.
The public is invited to the attend this final “Noonday” Holy Week service, as well as Easter morning services that include traditional worship at 9 a.m. and EPIC worship at 11:05 a.m.
The Colvert Ministry Center is located at 503. W. Broadway St., across the street on the north side of the church, at the corner of Broadway & E St. NW.
