MARSHALL COUNTY  —An Ardmore man was critically injured Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle was hit by a pickup pulling a stock trailer at the intersection of State Highway 199 and State Highway 1.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Jeffery Paul Loveland was taken by ambulance to a landing pad at Integris Marshall County Medical Center in Madill. Loveland was then airlifted to Medical City of Plano, Plano, Texas. The 33-year-old man, who suffered multiple injuries, was admitted to the Texas medical facility in critical condition.
The patrol said the accident occurred about 1:35 p.m. Christopher Dalton Smith, Tishomingo, was attempting a left turn from southbound off SH 199 in a 2005 Chevrolet pickup. He failed to yield to Loveland’s 2000 Harley Davidson. The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the trailer.
Loveland was not wearing a helmet. Smith was wearing a seatbelt. The patrol said he was not injured as result of the crash. Cause of the accident was listed as failure to yield.
