Sammie Joann Herriott, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at her home in Dickson, Okla. 

She was born on April 27, 1935 in Mustang, Okla. to Frank and Ruth Young. Sammie leave behind her daughter Denise Davis and her husband Mark of Denton, Texas; two sons Warren Harriott and his wife Cary and Scott Herriott and his wife Janie, both of Ardmore; six grandchildren Trey, Justin, Matthew, Ashley, Carly, and Sam; six great grandchildren Kasun, Chance, Makayla, Makenzie, Clayton, and Harris; great-great grandchild Knox; and Brother Dale Young of Tulsa. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Sonny; her parents; and two siblings. Sammie had the gift of loving everyone. 

Her family was so important to her and she loved them to the core. She created so many memories for her family to cherish because of her gift of loving and giving of her time. She loved to work at the family farm and to pick pecans. She was very patriotic, loved her country and cherished the colors red, white, and blue. Most importantly she shared her faith, loved the Lord, and her church. She always started the day off by spending time with the Lord and taking time to pray for everyone. Sammie was an example for all to follow and will be greatly missed. 

We will celebrate her life with a funeral service to be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21 at the First Baptist Church in Ardmore with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Craddock Funeral Home. Trey Herriott, Matthew Davis, Grant Baker, Kasun Herriott, Chance Herriott, Sam Herriott, Clayton Herriott, Danny Straus will serve as pallbearers.
