MUSKOGEE — Donald W. Black, 75, of Braggs, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017. He was born December 31, 1941, in Orr, Oklahoma, to Steve and Lucille (Guthrie) Black.
He proudly joined the United States Navy in 1963. Donald served 3 tours of duty and was very proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. During his term, he was honored to receive a Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. In 1968, he received an honorable discharge.
After earning his GED, Donald began working as a plant operator for Uniroyal tire plant. He retired in 1985 after 20 years of being a devoted employee. He married the love of his life, Judy Carol (Hutchens) Black in Ft. Smith, Ark., on December 4, 2009.
He was a member of many different organizations including, American Legion, Masonic Lodge of Ardmore, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of McAlester, and was a Bedouin Shriner. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta, Okla.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Lucille Black; sisters, Patsy Black and Jackie Croskell; and brother, John Black.
He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Judy Carol (Hutchens) Black; children, Dena Jones and husband, David of Ardmore, Okla., Zach Munzenrider and wife, Rebecca of Braggs, Okla., Karrie Englebretson and husband, Dave of Braggs, Okla., Amy Novara and husband, Carl of Owasso, Okla., and Joshua Munzenrider of NYC, NY; grandchildren, Brendon Black, Aaron Jones, Scotty Jones, Joshua Jones, Kyndell Engelbretson, Madyson Englebretson, Gracie Munzenrider, Ali Munzenrider, Tori Munzenrider, Alivia Novara, Carl Patrick Novara, Lila Novara.
 A celebration of Donald’s life will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2017, at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Russell and the Rev. Thomas Russell officiating. Interment will be at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, Okla., with grandsons, stepsons, Brendon Black, Aaron Jones, Scotty Jones, Joshua Jones, Zach Munzenrider, and Josh Munzenrider serving as pallbearers.
