Charles Henry Gallett, age 80, passed away on July 12, 2017, in Ardmore. Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Maranatha Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Collins officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Griffin~Hillcrest.
Charles was born on January 5, 1937, to Charlie and Minnie Gallett, in Dalhart, Texas. He graduated from Woodward High School, in Woodward, Okla., in 1956. While still in high school, he joined the Oklahoma National Guard. In June of 1957, he married Nova Lee Turner in the family home in Woodward. They made their first home in Woodward. From this union came two daughters, Cindy Sue and Cheryl Lynn. Charles moved to the White Deer, Texas, area and went to work for the Cabot Corporation for many years. There he met and married Lynn DaFore. In 1989, they moved to Ardmore, where he worked for many years for HELP, Inc. Charles loved woodworking, making furniture, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Minnie Gallett; brothers, James Clay Gallett and Joe Robert Gallett; and his first wife, Nova Lee Borrelli.
Charles is survived by his wife, Lynn Gallett; two daughters, Cindy Sue Jones and husband Harold and Cheryl Lynn Fergerson and husband Joe; ex-brother-in-law, Melvin Turner and wife Joyce Turner; grandchildren, Candice Richardson, Courtney Broyles, Staci Howard and Michael Fergerson; great-grandchildren, Collin Richardson, Cooper Richardson, Remington Broyles, Sullivan Broyles, Andrew Johnson, Caris Johnson, Bianka Howard, Shane Fergerson and Lexi Fergerson; and good friends, Mary and Doug Hayes.
