Mildred Catherine Wallace was born May 28, 1920 and went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 7, 2017. She was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma one of five children whose parents were George Pearson and Della Jewel (Coursey) Stidham.
She was a beautiful woman both inside and out and was known for her wit, wisdom and kind and gentle heart. Working in her garden, cooking, reading, crossword puzzles and reciting poetry were some of her favorite things and she loved her family and cherished every moment she had with them. There are not enough words to describe this lovely lady but it must be said that to be 97 years old and to never had an enemy seems remarkable. She was loved by everyone that met her and she will be missed by all that knew her.
Having a brilliant mind, she graduated high school two years early and met the absolute love of her life for Fred B. Wallace. They would have a love affair like none other from the time they were married on March 13, 1937 until his death on December 3, 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Ayres and her husband, Jay St. John, of Norman; her grandson, Greg Ayres and his wife, Leslie, and their son, Clayton, of Sulphur, and great granddaughter, Ashton Ayres of San Jose, California.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 66 years, Fred, son-in-law, Mike Ayres, grandson, Michael Ayres, great grandson, Dillon Ayres, daughter, Beverly Donley and great granddaughter, Deborah Donley, sisters, Lois Rains, Ruby Kate Lemay and brothers, Kenneth and Bob Stidham.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Pavilion in Pauls Valley officiated by Pastor Don Griffin and Clayton Stidham. Interment will be at Mt.
