For the Sulphur boys and girls cross country squads along with the Plainview Indians, it was something they were more than happy to take on Saturday at the state cross country meet.

Three runners represented the Lady Bulldogs, with Jaidyn Vallandingham clocking in at 13:24.90. followed by her teammates Maite Uribe at 14:33.74, and Iris Gonzales at 15:07.70.

As for the Sulphur boys team, they claimed a 13th overall finish as a team with 315 points.

Caleb Pierce led the way for SHS in 25th overall with a time of 18:10.30, followed by Samuel Barker in 28th overall with a time of 18:16.14.

Keagen Trett clocked in at 19:43.36, with Wyatt Knott at 19:57.80.

Kolbe Madron was next to finish for the Bulldogs with a time of 20:38.99, with Keegan Johnson finishing the race at 21:27.25, and Cameron Thompson rounding out the Bulldogs results at 23:19.09.

As for the Plainview Indians, they claimed eighth overall in the team standings with a point total of 238.

The Indians were well ahead of ninth placed Cascia Hall in the overall team standings for the race.

Dalton Bowden led the way for PHS with a 15th place finish, clocking in at 17:32.34, with Scotty Maxey in 27th overall, clocking in at 18:14.50.

Josh Hottell clocked in at 19:17.14 for the Indians, with Michael Lloyd finishing at 19:27.28.

Carlos Otero ran a time of 19:33.06, with Taylon Chambers finishing with a time of 19:39.65. 

Isiah Jefferson rounded out the Indians runners with a time of 21:02.69.

Both the Indians and the Bulldogs will be returning multiple runners for next season as they compete in the 4A ranks once again.
