Funeral services for Mary Louise “Lisa” York have been set for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory conducted by Rev Donny Custar, pastor of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, with the assistance of Randy Haile, Allan Henry and James Armstrong serving as pallbearers.
Daughter of the late, James Wiley Mitchell and Modest (West) Mitchell, Lisa was born April 20, 1935, in Desha County, Arkansas.  She and Osborne L. York were married January 30, 1960, at Long Beach, California and Lisa became a U.S. Navy wife.  She and Osborne celebrated their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary this year. In 1970 they moved to Ardmore from Long Beach..
Lisa  possessed a fiery and sassy personality, she thrived on the exchange of interesting ideas with her friends and family.  She called everyone “Love” and her smile would light up their day.
She drew strength from both her Baptist and Pentecostal faith. In her leisure time, Lisa enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and cooking.
Surrounded by a loving family, Lisa died peacefully at her home, Nov. 8, 2017, at the age of 82 years, six months and 18 days.  She is now reunited with her parents, her son, Roland Paul York, brothers and sisters, Mozell Hartwick, Ethel Fleetwood, Ella Mae Rouillier, Mollie M. Osborne, Walter Osborne, Hazel Ratcliff, Mabel Osborne and Gus Mitchell, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband, Osborne L. York and her daughter, Beverly J. York both of the home; her brother-in-law, Henry York and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
