Charles Hester Ledford was born Jan. 29, 1943, to Charlie and Nina (Sealy) Ledford in Lawton. He passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at the age of 75.

Charles was a man with a great sense of humor who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a tribal member of the Chickasaw Nation, which he was extremely proud of. Charles spent 25 years working for the City of Garland as a diesel mechanic and another five as a driver for FedEx. Charles loved fishing, taking his RV to the lake and watching “Goldrush” on television. He also enjoyed welding and building things. Charles loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Nina Ledford; and his first wife, Linda Ledford, mother to their children, Bill and Sonya.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ledford, of the home; son, Bill Ledford, of Thackerville; daughter, Sonya Dutton, of Ardmore; stepson, Kevin Corbett, of Ardmore; stepdaughter, Tammy Corbett, of Thackerville; grandchildren, Craig Gage of Ardmore, Ariel Gage of Ardmore, Harley Ledford of Thackerville and Koner Corbett of Ardmore; and many more grandkids and great-grandkids.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Randall Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Craddock Funeral Home.

Randal Markanson, Jeren Shurbet, David Lane, Lewis Standford, David Wright and Terral Erwin will serve as pallbearers.
